Upper School Athletics: Pre-Season for Fall Sports Begins August 20th



The Dwight Englewood Upper School Fall sports season begins with two weeks of preseason practices starting on Monday, August 20th  at 9:00AM.  ALL STUDENTS PLANNING ON PLAYING A FALL SPORT(Except Football) SHOULD REPORT TO THE GYM AT 8:45 AM.  THOSE PLANNING TO PLAY FOOTBALL SHOULD REPORT TO THE GYM AT 3:45PM. Coaches will then direct students to the different field locations.

Upper School Fall Athletes should report to the large gym located in the Modell's Sports Complex -
see at the center of the campus map.


The preseason provides new and returning student-athletes the opportunity to meet with their coaches and begin the preparations for the fall season. In the Upper School this fall, boys’ and girls’ varsity and junior varsity soccer, varsity and junior varsity field hockey, co-ed cross country, varsity football, girls’ varsity and junior varsity tennis, and girls’ varsity and junior varsity volleyball are offered.

Athletes should make every effort possible to attend all preseason practices (click here for schedule).  Dwight Englewood will provide transportation downtown between double sessions for students to get lunch.  All athletes should bring a gym bag filled with the following items:

Extra t-shirts, shorts, and socks

Sweat shirt and sweat pants

Running shoes

Cleats (for those playing Soccer, Football, Field Hockey)

Water Bottle

Towel


Also, all students planning to participate in preseason athletics MUST have their Health Forms in before they can practice. There will be absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS!!
